Terry Carnivore

A high-spirited and audacious tomboy who vigorously resists anything girly. So much so, she is often mistaken for a boy. Even Teddy likes to refer to her as his brother. This is further complicated by a bet she lost to Heather, she can not reveal to anyone she is a girl. She is not afraid to try new things including all kinds of athletic endeavors except the girly ones. She shares an unusual relationship with Heather, her adversarial opposite. When they are not busy throwing messy stuff at each other, dubiously called "The Flan Wars", they seem to always be hanging out with each other. A schemer like her father, but unlike her father, her plans often runs afoul especially with the school faculty. Students see her free thinking as non-conformity and added her war with Heather, she has achieved a certain amount of popularity. She an energetic go getter who also likes to take things in stride.

Teddy Carnivore

An affable cub who considers Terry a brother and is each other’s best friend. Their relationship is so close some people falsely think it’s unseemly. The only things that upset him about her is when she borrows his clothes and her constant warring with Heather whom he sometimes serves as a mediator. While Terry is into athletics, Teddy is into all kinds of hobbies ranging from typical to unconventional and enjoys introducing these things to Terry. Considered the cutest kid in school, he is often swoon upon by all the girls.

Johnnie Carnivore

An ill natured, intimidating bear that takes no stuff from anyone and at times can be antisocial. Born and raised in the woods, she is the least adapted of the clan, and is prone to open displays of crass and tactless behavior. Enjoys any and all kinds of lowbrow endeavors such as reality television, and is a bear of many vices. Believes the bears are being corrupted by humanity but she is in fact the worse offender.

Jeffery Carnivore

The even-tempered and intelligent patriarch of the clan who is one of a very few individuals who is not intimidated by Johnnie. Raised in the zoo, he learned the ways of humanity by observing the people who visit him. After being released in the wild, he uses this knowledge to integrate himself into human society. An enterprising profiteer, his elaborate schemes range from ingenious to unscrupulous and luck always seems to be with him, much to everyone chagrin. Though he is a profiteer; he’s far from frugal, as he has no problem enjoying a lavish lifestyle.

Heather Carnivelle

Terry’s self proclaim arch nemesis and polar opposite. A brooding thumb sucking cheerleader whom believes she is a sophisticated and refined girl but unbeknownst to herself, she has a boorish, slovenly underside. She claims to harbor a deep-rooted hatred for Terry and wishes to humiliate and destroy her. According to Heather, she and Terry were the very best of friends who annually see each at summer camp but when Terry transfers to her school, Terry has no recollection of their friendship. This slight enrages Heather so much; she declares war on her so-called friend Terry. Her goal is to mold the tomboy into her own image and make her join the cheerleading team. The most popular girl in school, she is treated like a celebrity but her obsessive war with Terry has inadvertently raised Terry’s popularity ratings at the cost of her own.

Kim Carter

Terry’s geeky, pretentious, and boring sidekick, who is smartest girl in school. A know-it-all overachiever who feels her intelligence makes her superior to everyone. She actually runs afoul of teachers who don’t like to read her long boring book reports or her sleep inducing oral reports. Always bragging about her intelligence and look for ways to be rewarded for it, such a petitioning the school board to rename the school after her. She sees her friendship with Terry as a privilege on her part and considers PBS and lengthy study times the highest form of recreation. Many wonders why the two with such different personalities can be friends, especially the envious Heather. She believes herself to be cool, but she is really tragically unhip.

Tracy McNeil

An uptight and driven community activist with a suppressed unrestrained side, who tries to get the passive Johnnie to participate in her volunteer work. A constant meddler particularly regarding Jeffrey’s nonchalant approach to life and Johnnie’s boorish actions. Though being a part of the Carnivores’ entourage makes her feel like a sycophant, she still accepts their generosity just the same.

Carl McNeil

Jeffrey’s jack of all trades neighbor who admires his ingenuity. A sometimes-frustrated blue-collar business owner, Carl has no problem being a part of the Carnivores’ entourage.

Allowese Wright

Typically low paid, polyester wearing teacher, who is very strict and rumored to be borderline postal. She takes great pleasure in sadistically dishing out extra hard classroom assignments to her students. When she is not harping about her chosen profession, she has to deal with either Terry’s smart-alecky attitude or Kim’s excessively tedious school assignments. She calls them "The Terrible Twos".
